My child is not aged 4-7, is the content still useful?
Children aged 3 have used our Academy successfully, however this is slightly ahead of most national curriculums. Children aged 7-10 will benefit if they cannot yet read complex sounds (e.g. "ay", "ee", "sh", "oa", "i-e"). Children aged 10+ may find the content is too young for them.

Will my child get live tutoring or live classes?
The program has step-by-step, pre-recorded lesson videos only. Parents can receive personalized support on the Community page. Ask questions and receive answers from a reading specialist, within 24hrs.

Can you tutor my child?
We do not have live tutoring available, we recommend trialling the Academy as an inexpensive alternative. You may find it more convenient than finding a good tutor and making arrangements.

I am a teacher and I want to use this in my classroom. Is this possible?
Yes, if you have a projector/screen or iPads. Several schools are already using it as a cost-effective phonics program. You can start using it in your classroom tomorrow. It requires no planning or teacher training, and will teach your students to read.

How long does it take?
We recommend your child completes one short lesson every day at the same time (kids love routine and consistency). If you follow this advice, a complete beginner reader will complete the whole academy within 2 months. However, every child is different and it's normal to return to some old lessons for revision and practice.

Does this Academy support dyslexic learners?
Yes, however the best strategies for dyslexic children are those which are tailored to them. When it comes to dyslexia, studies consistently show that early intervention and additional support is crucial. The earlier that support, the more impactful it is. Meta-studies show that early phonemic awareness and phonics instruction often helps dyslexic learners overcome their language processing issues, especially those that aren't severely affected. Our Academy gives crucial phonics and phonemic awareness instruction.

Does this Academy teach phonics?
Yes, our method teaches phonics directly. Each new sound is introduced one at a time, alongside blending skills. Knowledge is built sequentially. The latest research advises that children are taught using a mix of phonics and sight words (the best of both worlds).
